With each new edition, the Surlyn® cap had the extraordinary capacity to perfectly adapt to the change which allowed the Givenchy brand to evolve the perfume cover without having to rethink everything.

Monaco, October 2014 - The evolution of packaging whether it is minimal for a limited edition series or significant with a more impactful change, allows a product to keep its dynamism past its launch year. DuPont ™ Surlyn® resin perfectly accompanies brands with this need for renewal without losing the essence of what has made the product’s reputation.  Surlyn® can very easily create various lines using colour or different decoration techniques without compromising the level of chemical resistance, the haptic qualities or the aesthetic properties such as high gloss or crystalline transparency.

The different versions of the bottles of the iconic scent "Ange ou Démon" by Givenchy are evidence of this. The fact that Surlyn®’ can be dyed in the mass allows for beautiful depth of colour. As it ranges from a very transparent material at the beginning with a constant colour neutrality, designers can imagine all possible and imaginable colours, from transparent to opaque. Thus, each bottle can tell or reinterpret a different story

The bottle of the fragrance "Ange ou Démon" was created in 2006 by the famous sculptor Serge Mansau. Originally, the diamond-like bottle wearing a cap made from Surlyn®, reinterprets the shapes of a chandelier pendant. Crystalline at its base and midnight blue at its summit - it reinforces the mysterious character of the fragrance. The faceted bottle evokes this mysterious and powerful duality of both darkness and light. Over the years a softer facet was expressed. Following the midnight blue gradient, the hue mellowed and took on a more sensual apricot pink tone from 2013. With each new edition, the Surlyn® cap had the extraordinary capacity to perfectly adapt to the change which allowed the Givenchy brand to evolve the perfume cover without having to rethink everything. Transparent, tinted, metallised or satin, the Surlyn® cap evolves; its appearance changes but the mould at the origin of the piece remains the same, which allows for easy, fast and cost-effective packaging renewal. Limited edition series, variations depending on the season’s colour codes, any reinterpretation is possible with Surlyn®. Surlyn ® meets the needs of perfume and cosmetics packaging designers with technical know-how, unique and innovative solutions which take new trends into account.
