BERKELEY COLLEGE NAMED AS ONE OF THE BEST COMPANIES
TO WORK FOR IN NEW YORK STATE
Berkeley College was recently named one of the Best Companies to Work for in New York State for 2010. “Berkeley College is honored to be included among the best in New York,” said Berkeley College President Dario A. Cortes, PhD. “Our associates and faculty are passionate about participating in our students’ experience, resulting in a high level of fulfillment and satisfaction in their work.”
The New York State Society for Human Resource Management and Best Companies Group, an independent company managing Best Places to Work programs, formed a partnership to launch the prestigious awards program in New York State in 2007. This statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in New York, benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce, and businesses.
The Best Companies to Work for in New York list is made up of 40 companies split into two groups: 25 small-to-medium-sized companies with between 15 and 249 employees, and 15 large-sized companies with 250 or more employees. Berkeley College was named one of the best in the large-sized category. Companies were evaluated based on workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics as well as the result of an employee survey.
“All of us are honored and proud to be listed among the best companies to work for in New York State,” said Berkeley College Vice President of Human Resources Karen Carpentieri. We believe the benefits we offer to our more than 500 associates help us to attract and keep the best faculty and staff. Some of these benefits include waiving tuition at Berkeley College for employees and their dependents; an employee referral incentive program; a flexible spending account for out-of-pocket health and dependent care expenses; pet insurance; and a paid time-off policy to help balance work and family life.”
Berkeley College will be recognized and honored at the Best Companies to Work for in New York awards dinner on Wednesday, April 21, at the Marriott Hotel in Albany. Final rankings will be announced at the ceremony.
