Berkeley College Appoints Andy DeStephano as Director of Athletics

BERKELEY COLLEGE APPOINTS ANDY DESTEPHANO
AS DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS
Andy DeStephano has been named Director of Athletics at Berkeley College. Since joining the Athletics department in 2010, Mr. DeStephano has been instrumental in expanding its programming, personally guiding the development of new programs such as the Women’s Basketball and Women’s Soccer teams.
The Berkeley College Athletics program has seen rapid growth in recent years. During Mr. DeStephano’s tenure with the College, the program has expanded from three to 10 intercollegiate teams across two states. The Knights have garnered five conference championships and received six postseason national tournament bids, with more than 15 scholar-athletes reaching All-American or Academic All-American distinction.
Mr. DeStephano joined Berkeley College in 2008 as an adjunct instructor, Management, Larry L. Luing School of Business. He was named Assistant Athletic Director in 2010 and was promoted to Associate Athletic Director in 2012.
Mr. DeStephano brings 18 years of academic and athletic experience to his new position. He previously served as Men’s Basketball Coach at Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ, where he was the youngest Head Coach in the program’s history. Before joining Centenary College, he served as Assistant Coach at Plymouth State University in Plymouth, NH, where he helped the Panthers compile their best record to date. The team was one of six in the nation to receive a bid to the 2003-2004 NCAA Division III Tournament, advancing to the second round.
Mr. DeStephano has extensive experience with athletic camps and has served as an owner, director, guest lecturer, coach and counselor, among other positions. He holds an MBA from Centenary College and a BS in Sports Management from St. John’s University, NY.
