Indianapolis – July 3, 2015 BBB® Serving Central Indiana warns Central Indiana consumers who were affected by the recent flooding to be cautious when selecting a contractor to help restore damages. In a time where decisions must be made quickly, unscrupulous contractors may travel from other states to attempt to take advantage of the vulnerable to make a quick dollar.  When hiring a flood restoration contractor, keep the following in mind

Visit bbb.org/indy to check on any potential companies

If possible, try to obtain at least 2 estimates from different contractors.

Avoid contractors who come unsolicited and use high pressure tactics.

Never pay a contractor for services upfront.

Make sure to ask for proof of insurance and contact information for the agent to verify.
