In June 2015, BBB Servng Central Indiana began to receive complaints from across the country from consumers who used a tax preparation service in Indianapolis called Central Business Services, Inc. (CBSi). BBB files indicate this company has a pattern of complaint(s).  Specifically, consumers allege the business does not answer/ return phone calls or emails.  Consumers allege the company would file for an extension for the consumer’s taxes, yet the consumer reports the extension was not filed. 

 

Consumers also allege the the company continued to debit their banking accounts for services that were not being performed. BBB sent a letter to the company to address these pattern of complaints, but the mail was returned as undeliverable as addressed.  On July 18th, 2015, a BBB representive went to the location and found the business was not at the suite number listed, however, they were at another suite number. 

 

An inquirer contacted BBB on August 16th, 2015 stating she received a letter in the mail from CBSi that reads, “Dear Valued CBSi Client, We regret to inform you that after nearly 30 years of business, CBSi will be closing its doors.  We have enclosed all of your original tax documents for you.  Unfortunately we are unable to complete your tax returns for you.  We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.  We would like to thank you for your business and we have enjoyed working with you over the years”.
