DuPont Also Recognized by The Patent Board as No. 1 in Industry Innovation,
Among Best Corporate Citizens by Corporate Responsibility Magazine

Wilmington, Del., March 7, 2011 – DuPont is among the world’s most admired companies in 2011, according to a study published by FORTUNE magazine. DuPont was the only company in its industry sector named to FORTUNE’s Top 50 “Most Admired Companies” list. Overall, DuPont moved up six spots from last year to no. 43 in 2011. The results will be in the March 21 edition of FORTUNE, which is available on newsstands and online today.

FORTUNE magazine’s “Most Admired Companies” list is the latest in a string of DuPont recognitions. DuPont was named no. 1 in its industry last month on the annual Patent Board Report for the fifth consecutive year. Also, Corporate Responsibility magazine named DuPont no.19 on its 12th annual 100 Best Corporate Citizens List last week, moving up from no. 92 last year.

“Our 60,000 employees can take great pride in these recognitions,” said DuPont Chair and CEO Ellen Kullman. “This distinction among our peers testifies to our commitment to innovation, our core values including high ethical standards and our inclusivity with customers and other partners to create sustainable solutions that can help address some of the most complex global challenges.”

DuPont was ranked second in all nine individual categories used by FORTUNE to rate the Most Admired Companies in each industry, including: Innovation, People Management, Use of Corporate Assets, Quality of Management, Long-term Investment, Quality of Management Financial Soundness, Long-term Investment, Quality of Products/Services and Global Competitiveness.

FORTUNE’s “Most Admired Companies” list is widely considered the definitive measure of corporate performance and reputation. To identify and rank the most admired companies, FORTUNE and its partner, The Hay Group, surveyed approximately 15,000 senior executives, outside directors from the FORTUNE 1,000 and Global 500 companies and other major non-U.S. companies and financial analysts.
