Parent, a midfielder, is tied for second on the team with three goals, two of which came during conference play, and she also has one assist while starting 14 of 17 games.
Her one assist came Oct. 29 in a 5-2 win over North Florida to open the A-Sun Tournament.
The Hatters (9-6-2) were set to play Lipscomb in the semifinals Friday.
WOMEN'S GOLF
Lincoln Park Academy graduate Brittany LaPadula led Florida Tech to the NCAA Regional Preview team title Tuesday, claiming medalist honors to lift the Panthers in the 12-team event.
LaPadula and two others finished one-under par 143, but she won on a tiebreaker, using a scorecard comparison on hole No. 18. The senior shot an even par 72 in the first round and saved par on No. 18 to finish the second round one-under.

Former Fort Pierce Central defensive backs Joe Figueroa and Cortney Mimms are playing together in the secondary at Colgate University.
Figueroa, a senior starting free safety, has 32 tackles, one interception and six pass breakups. Mimms, a sophomore, totals 20 tackles and one fumble recovery coming off the bench.
Colgate is 3-4 going into Saturday's game against Fordham.
Sebastian River graduate Phillip Norman, now the starting at center for Bethune-Cookman, helped the Wildcats to a 41-10 win over Delaware State on Oct. 29.
The junior lineman had a hand in the offense's 493 total yards, including 269 yards on 38 carries. Treasure Coast High graduate Travares Copeland had one catch for 25 yards in that game as a redshirt junior wide receiver. Copeland has played in all seven games but has just five catches for 68 yards for the Wildcats, who are 2-5. Port St. Lucie graduate Donald De La Haye is averaging 58.9 yards per kickoff as the placekicker for the University of Central Florida. The sophomore has 17 touchbacks in 48 tries.

Pita Pit planned for DeLand corner near Stetson University The Daytona Beach News-Journal | 11/03/2016DELAND -- Pitas filled with everything from buffalo chicken to hummus could be joining the menu near Stetson University.
A Pita Pit restaurant is being targeted for the southwest corner of the Plymouth Avenue and Woodland Boulevard intersection.
The restaurant still needs approvals from the city, but if approved, the goal is to open in late 2017, said Michael Benedict, the property owner and a business partner with the franchisees.
The franchisees are Jose and Vanessa Cifuentes -- the same people opening a Jimmy Hula's "surf shack" fast-casual restaurant in Ormond Beach.
The DeLand restaurant will employ around 25 full- and part-time workers, Benedict said.
He described the counter-service restaurants as "a little fun and funky" and added the goal is to also have bicycle delivery.
Benedict said the pita sandwiches are like a "very healthy" version of burritos and noted the restaurant's vegetarian options.
"Everything's made fresh so it's not a fast-food restaurant," he said.
Prices for kids at the restaurant are around $4, while the average regular pita will be around $5 and $7, Benedict said.
The DeLand restaurant would be the only Pita Pit in Volusia and Flagler Counties, although one was previously at The Pavilion at Port Orange.
The proposed restaurant would be just a few blocks north of Stetson and less than a mile from Florida Hospital DeLand.
The site's proximity to the hospital, Stetson, DeLand High School, and downtown were all factors in the decision to locate the restaurant there, Benedict said.
The site is home to an unused church building, and it would be replaced by a new, more than 1,600-square-foot restaurant fronting Woodland Boulevard, site plans show.
The project goes before the City Commission Monday for land-use and zoning changes. Some neighbors in the area have expressed concerns, including about traffic, said DeLand Senior Planner Anna Cava Grosso. City staff is recommending approval of the project, but an attempt by the city planning board to also recommend approval of the land-use change failed in a 3-3 tie.
Michael Sznapstajler, an attorney for the applicant, said a traffic study determined there would only be seven new trips generated by the project during the peak hour of 5 to 6 p.m. Return to Top |
